Excel security warnings and imported data

After importing data, every time you open a workbook Excel warns you by displaying a yellow bar on the screen

This is because Excel stores the data link to the data you imported in the workbook file. To remove the security warning you have to remove the data link.

Go to the Data Tab in the excel toolbar and look for the “connections” button. Click that. You will see a data link in the Workbook connections dialog which is actually a link to the data you imported at some stage.

But you are finished with the data link, since the data was imported successfully. So why is it still here? Maybe someone can answer that for me. You dont need this link any more. Click it to select it and click the Remove button

Accept the changes and save your workbook. The next time you open the excel workbook there will not be a security warning.
